if the dash light does NOT come on when you short those 2 pins, you might have a blown bulb in the dash. or bad wiring.

the most common problem is mud and sand in the electrical connect. dig out the mud, and spray it out with wd40. if that doesn't help, remove it and troubleshoot, or replace the switch from any parts store for about $15-20.
Thanks.. I will check it out.. I currently have a new problem.. LOL. Not with 4x4 though.. =\ I just got it all fixed up, (cept the light) and this morning I got crazy noises up front. Time to do some searching. Poor Truck is just plain worn out!

What kind of noises? What were you doing when noises showed up? Driving straight, turnong left or right? Over bumps?

And what kind of noise? Squealing, knocking, tapping?

I think the problem's are due to the groovy graphics on the side of the truck.
