Losing oil somewhere, not sure if its the plenum or not
whitenuckle, yea that 2nd picture is what my valve covers look like. The rear especially by the 2 spark plugs, if i remove the plugs as i said i can see oil stains going down and all over the ceramic "white part" of the plugs where the wires plug into.
Also the breather hose in your 2nd pic looks fine. No oil. Mine has oil all over it

carefully.... i just grabbed my and yanked it hard... not a good idea... but just be gentle with it and it will be fine i've taking mine out many times with out breaking it but today i was in a hurry....
Well those plugs are the dirty ones, the 2nd pic you can see the oil all over the metal washer/gasket on the plug. Thats from the valve cover.
This is what the rest of the plugs look like.

I know the timing cover is fine, i recently replaced the timing chain because the timing cover gasket went bad and i was leaking coolant. The oil pan im position isnt leaking. Only spots i see oil is the valve cover which is very obvious because the outside of the 2 spark plugs in the back are coverd in oil. That and the transmission bellhousing where the inspection plate is by the oil pan is coverd in oil. The Vehicle doesnt drip tho when its parked.. So im guessing its leaking only when im driving ? Could a valve cover leak cause you to lose that much oil in 1500 miles ?
I'll get my dental mirror out tomorrow and check the front of the plenum pan to be sure, the pic as i sad is of the rear/middle.

Candymancan, based on your symptoms I think I'd agree that your leaking is what you've deduced, from the valve covers. You stated in your OP ~1/4 qt of oil. That seems commensurate with the mileage. Would checking your catalytic converter or anything downstream also help ascertain outlet paths?
Quit commenting on my dirty engine bay.
I've actually power washed it a few months ago, right before replacing the K&N tube. I'll get more current pics to keep you wolves at bay. I have gaskets but I want new bolts. I must be dolt this AM b/c I went to Rockauto and Napa and can't identify the bolts. *goes to check the FSM now*
The part number did not work on Rock Auto or Napa so I'm probably unaware still of how to obtain the right studs. Also, what is Item -8?
Thanks for any help.
Warm up the engine, and spray some silicone spray so it'll get between the valve and the grommet. If that doesn't do the trick you'll want to replace the grommet -- or just get used to breaking the PCV valve out with pliers.
I think what im going to do is buy some Mopar Magnum valve covers, and just replace mine all together. What do you think black mopar magnum covers or those chrome looking ones ? Oh and im sure there is a specific torque rating and pattern for the covers am i right ? I'll have to dig into my hayns manual.
Need to replace my stupid power steering pump as well.. The thing is all messed up. It doesnt leak when its hot out but now with the cold weather shrinking stuff it leaks really bad. I have big stains on the driveway down there. That and the plastic pully is cracked, and one of the mountiing brackets on it is broken off.. which i found out when replacing my waterpump ect.
