Default swapping turbo, from a manual to an auto

I have a 2001 ram 2500 5.9l auto. I was wondering if a turbo (holset part # 3539343) from a 1998.5 manual will bolt right up, and If I would benefit from it? thanks

you probably won't see much benefits if you have a mostly stock diesel

the reason why is the you diesel has a auto and they put smaller turbos on the diesel with auto trannys. due to the fact they could fully spool up the turbos so dodge fixed them by installing smaller turbos

a turbo on a Manuel is bigger you will experience turbo lag with it. unless you have a bigger intake some type of programmer and bigger injectors.... but if you don't have some upgrades your probly gonna be loosing a little power

when i was working at a perfromace diesel shop... we had alot of 2nd come in with autos and we installed bigger turbos but they also had a ton of motor work and etc done..
