Default Magnaflow muffler leaking

I've had a magnaflow muffler for about a year. It's started leaking slightly between the inlet pipe of the muffler and the muffler body. This is a pressed fitting, not a welded joint. Its not a huge issue, but the pfft, pfft, pfft noise I hear standing beside the truck at idle annoys me. Not a huge leak, was hoping to repair rather than replace. I tried some "Muffler Weld" brand goo, and no surprise, it held for a day. I doubt that thin stainless would weld very well, right? Anyone know of a JB weld type product I could put on there that wouldn't melt? I hope my magnaflow cat holds up better than the muffler.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I suppose its not 2nd gen specific, although the muffler is on my 2nd gen truck.

I realize too that this is kind of a trivial thread, just thought some of you guys may have had good (or bad) experiences with a certain product fixing a similar issue. Not really wanting to spend money on the exhaust right now either, if I can avoid it. Probably wind up putting a F-master 50 series on there...but I was hoping some of the old farts out there had successfully cheaped out on something like this in the past.

Also, if you haven't already guessed, I wouldn't really recommend magnaflow mufflers. Sounds pretty nice and all that, but it shouldve held up a little better.

Aren't they warrantied? If not, just weld it.

Guy at the shop that put it on says magnaflow will replace the muffler, he wants 100 bucks from me to install it. I have no welder myself. If I have to pay someone, I'm going to a different shop.
