180* T-Stat ? HELP
Thing is, most folks don't "just" do the thermostat, it's usually part of some other procedure, so, any data derived isn't necessarily because of the thermostat, but, because of the 'other' work that was done.
Also, it isn't JUST what the O2 sensors are telling the PCM either, PCM also pays attention to coolant temp, and the IAT, for deciding just how much gas to shoot in there. There is so much going on there, without being able to run some CONSISTENT testing, the data just isn't reliable enough.

I myself just replaced the stat because my old one stuck and I had a leak... I noticed no change in mpg...it was bad before and after the new stat... 2 years later and only 10,000 miles later plugs look very light brown and clean as can be...I would think that would indicate it hasnt been running rich.
Just checked my milage with the 195* Stat:
100% town = 10.58 mpg
With 180* it was 8.57 mpg
So my truck was definitely running rich with the 180* Stat
