stupid 4wd questions

Default stupid 4wd questions

ok so i had to use 4wd the other day on the beach. now my light is stuck on and i cant turn my driveshaft but its not engaged cause i cant feel my front end pulling....i can switch it in 4wd and tell a diffence. I dont know what to look at cause its not fully engaged. but it seems like it is partially engaged? confuses me

lift it and put it on jack stands (or burn out in grass) to make sure your front wheels are in fact not engaging. It could be a vacuum leak (you'll see two vacuum hoses on top of the transmission cross member) and if you follow the lines around there you'll probably find your problem. I've had the lines come off and the exhaust burn a hole in them. Check those out first.

ok it seems like the front diff is engaged but the tranfercase is not

Your vacum system is designed to engage your cad. So your vacum system on the disengage side is not working.
