Pulled axle shaft, oil coming out

Default Pulled axle shaft, oil coming out

Hey guys I just pulled my axle shafts out and I have oil coming out of the passenger (cad) side. is this normal? was my diff overfilled possibly? i don't want to put it back together if something is wrong..

HUH? What do you think is going to happen when you remove the shafts? Check the level after you reinstall everything.

some of the oil is oil that was on the axle shaft when it was in the center section. Also if you not level and leaning to the side you took out..

be careful when putting it back in. Heres a tech tip a friend of mine give me.. take a piece of poster board paper (thin cardboard like the white piece that comes in gaskets sets) Cuit it lenght ways about 2 inches wide, form it into u shaped tube, then carefully slide it in the housing until it gets to the seal. Stop don't go into the seal, stop at the seal, be careful. Now mark it at the housing opening about 1 inch or 1 1/2 inches and cut if off. when putting the axle back hold it up so it is barely touching the cardboard as you slide it in till you get to the seal then you'll have to lift it and try to put in back in the center section. when you get it started into the center section start pulling out the cardboard paper, cutting or bending it till its all the way out, This will keep the dirt thats in the tube from getting into the oil.
