Need serious help with SCT tuner
[QUOTE=HeyYou;2673476]That sounds more like a hardware issue, than software, considering it worked correctly with stock shift points, and hemi's tune..... Would be interesting to try the tuner on another truck.
I think the same thing, but it runs and shifts so good now that I am not going to go poking around and ruin a good thing.. If things change (which I doubt, been running like this for months and still awesome) then will start looking deeper, but till then I will just enjoy...
PS.. And as Hemi said the 96 PCM when it comes to the Torque Management section is completely different then all the other years 97-up, Like I said earlier, I love the way it starts, idles, and drives now.. Would not change a thing..

How often do you change tire sizes?????
Doesn't EVERYONE love assorted automotive fluids running down/into various body parts???

You'll notice a significant difference if you use 91 or 93 tunes, the 87 doesn't do much for me except the shift points are better. I use the 93 tune and I have much better throttle response. Feels like a different truck.
Well I have 4.56 gears to match my 35" tires so the speedo is right on and I'm not really planning on changing tire size any time soon.... I tested it against my gps.. I heard the 96 was different which is why there are fewer tuner options out there... The whole this with the 93 vs 87 octane is kind of a negative to me since its going to equal most $$ at the pump essentially making this a bigger pig on my wallet. I guess it gotta do the math on how much more it really would be vs driving enjoyment.
From what I have read on here, the answer would be yes. I do not know from personal expirience. My SCT should be here today or tomorrow. Yes I jumped on the bandwagon. I have never used Superchips. IIRC, Lastrights had Superchips then went to SCT. Mabe pm him and see what he thinks.

I use the 87 for around town but on trips i run the 91. If im going to go play around ill run the 93 but it drinks that 93 lol. As far as correcting the speedo, on the pre 98 trucks it cant be done by a programmer. The speedo has nothing to do with the pcm on those years. I believe thats why the superchips says 98 and up.
