Default inconsistent braking

Most of the time my brakes are scary slow to stop. I know the 35's don't help but I'm sure they should work better. They almost feel like there's air in the lines so I bled them and nothing changed. Rear drums are adjusted properly. What makes me think they should work better is after I tow anything they work awesome for awhile then back to normal. Crappy pads? Any Ideas?
Thanks

How new are the Pads and rotors? Maybe a caliper problem?

I've seen several postings about brake lines collapsing and such also. If in doubt about pads and linings, replace with the highest quality you can afford.

thanks for the responses. Pads are couple years old and looked fine a few months ago, so did the rotors. Think getting better pads is the way to go because I'm not sure of the quality of the ones on there now. I didn't see the posts about the collapsed lines. I'll look into that......thanks again

Mine as well just replace pads and rotors and see how that does for you.. Agreed with looking at all lines and inspecting them closely for any cracks or breaks.. The ones above the gas tank are known to be the problem child with these trucks.

What you're describing is very likely glazed pads/shoes. Have you heated them up good, perhaps by dragging the brakes on a long downgrade, in the past? If so, you should consider having the drums and rotors turned and throwing new shoes and pads at it.
