Default im back again with trans question

i hav a 98 Ram 2500 5.9l gas auto 4x4, ive always thought it had a 727 trans but i read somewhere it might have like a A518 or somethin like that, i dont know if this helps but on top of the bellhousing it has 064-4 on both sides, if someone could shed some light on any of this it would be greatly welcome

I'm no expert but I'd guess you got the A518 http://www.autorepairmanuals.biz/sit...83/page/371346

yup 46re (a518).... 727 was used like 40 years ago...lol 46re is no 727...but they have some similarities 46 re is electrically controlled not hydraulically like the 727 or 46rh used in 95 and older rams.
