Need Some Real And Honest Input
do your own body work as much of it as you can as well as sanding and removing and taping off things....and then have maaco do the paint if you want to go that route...they painted one of my cars for me years ago...I paid extra for a middle of the road paint job and it held up for almost ten years till I repainted the vette myself this last summer. (if you tell them you are paying in cash they usually do a better job because they dont report all the $$.... you can also go the route or asking who will be painting it and offer him an extra $100 tip for motivation to do a good job...money well spent in my opinion.
the guy that did the rattle can job sold it right after painting it...spray paint enamel simply does not hold up as well as real auto paint. it has a much lower VOC and does not cure and harden the same way as real auto finishes...plus once you paint a vehicle with spray paint ALL of it must be removed prior to using any professional finish... I dont believe even sealer will work over it.
