2wd lift question
#11
cause the more i think about it the less i want to change gears. im thinking if i did the 2" coil spacers, 3" spindles, and a 3" block that would fix the sag plus have a level 3" lift so from what i see in my head 33s would look great without the stuffed look or the need bigger tires look.

Do you realize how much its going to effect power and mpg to put 33+ tires on there without changing gears? not to mention the fact that it will shorten transmission life....I would make that a priority.
Just so we are all on the same page.... A LOT of people go down this road ignoring or unaware of this and once its lifted they realize what a dog it becomes to drive and how bad the gas mileage gets and then turn around and try to sell it...and in your case it would make it a hard sell... Take this as opinion but I dont see an underpowered overworked 2wd truck made to look like 4wd as a hot seller...
The plus side is you only have one axle to worry about changing the gears in...
I should add that I made a similar mistake with a jeep wrangler I had...I bought it with 31" tires and stock 4.10 gears (4 banger) when I put 32" tires on it I could no longer even use 5th gear properly...It wasnt until I put close to stock sized 28" snow tires on it that I realized just how much power and gas mileage I was losing with the bigger wheels.... I then had 4.56 gears installed and gained most of that power and mpg back. HUGE difference... It was a stick so I could only imagine how much worse it wouldhave been for an auto...

Yeah you lose power with 33's but it's not the end of the world, gas mileage I never noticed a change.....but when you get 10mpg regardless of how you drive I wasnt worried.
Sct tuner will make up for tire change(power loss) for a little less than gears, but still more wear on truck parts.
But 4.10 gears and 33's make for some fun

I've got a 97 2500 2wd all stock but I wanna put a small lift on it and throw some 33s or even 35s on it, and I read above that I should swap gears to atleast 410s? Wondering what you guys are using for the front lift? I kinda wanna use a 3" body lift and maybe some small blocks in the rear?
