I've seen numerous times on DF where people have just swapped the seat cushion with the passenger side.

I did that for about a month while I looked for new fabric to reapir mine. I also had stiffer foam installed to keep the edge form breaking down.

This photo is the passenger side seat bolted in, and the driver side the day O got it back from upholstery shop. He cut part of the faom out and installed the firmer foab before recovering. Looks great and feels better.

After I took this shot, I swapped the seats ottoms into the original position. The only difference is the box bottom (sides) is vinyl where it is up next to the center seat, and fabric on the outside. So if you leave it swapped, no one else will likely know.

I swapped mine just so when a person opens my door, that little tear in the seat was not the first thing jumped out at ya,
I think I gonna leave it that way ,

My driver's seat wasn't torn, just broken down a little on the outside. I did as described and swapped cushions from side to side. I now sit nice and even with support on the outside and the low broken side is now where the passenger seat meets the center section...and it's not even noticeable.

Ironically, I did something similar in my Durango but it's much more involved with those buckets.
