Default CAD info

For those that have ever pulled their CAD, do you replace with a gasket, or slap on some RTV and call it a day. I have to get in there and replace a seal next weekend. I already ordered some stuff, and this gasket completely slipped my mind. At this point my mistake will make this $2 gasket expensive... when you add shipping. I'll order one at a dealer if I have too... if it will affect CAD operation. I wasn't sure if pushing the CAD in further without the gasket will affect the fork operation since it is acting as a shim in a way. If it doesn't matter, i'll RTV it.

TIA!

you should be good with using the RTV gasket maker, make sure you get high temp black, but if you can, i would get a gasket anyway , they are cheap anyhow

I would get the gasket no matter the situation but use both if you want. Make sure as noted its High Temp RTV silicone. The PO of the truck i just got put only the gasket which started leaking so I took it off got new gasket and used RTV and of coarse no leak.
