Default tranny swap

I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.9L V8 and i was just wondering how hard it was to swap out my automatic transmission for a 5 speed manual? and if any one has done it can you give me any information and possibly an estimated price range?
Thanks

If you do a search on it you will find a bunch of threads on it. I've browsed some of them and from my understanding it would be kind of a pain. I know guys have done it but you would have to have a lot of pieces and parts so a donor truck would be needed probably. Along with the trans itself you would be talking about all the mechanical parts, i.e. pedals, linkage, shifter, etc. and also wiring harness and computer to say the least. If you do a search you can find a lot of info about it that can explain it better than me.
I love a stick shift but I think it would be more hassle than it's worth myself. Just my

Welcome to DF by the way! If you check out the FAQ/DIY section you can find out ALL kinds of great info here. There are downloadable FSM and loads of other info if you spend some time looking around.

Find a wrecked donor. Buy the whole truck. Rape it. Sell the rest.

Default possible--how bad do you want it?

I've tallied up the parts list for converting my 07; $2500-$4000 depending upon what transmission I pick. Keep in mind that's all new parts, except the low end includes a used NV3500. There's a good thread on dodge talk you could look at for third gens. Hemi Truck Club has a thread also. I think 2x1972 is right; probably the best answer...
