My tranny wont shift over 1st gear...

On my way into work this morning I noticed my check engine light was on but it was running and shifting fine.

At lunch, the damn thing wont shift into 2nd no matter how I drive it. The speedo works....Is this the tranny output speed sensor? I wont have access to a code reader until after work IF i can make it to an Autozone.

2000 dodge ram, 3.9L auto.

Got it!

Had one of our drivers P/U a Tranny speed sensor whyle he was out. I changed it in the parking lot and that was it.....Shifting fine now.

 

Thanks for letting us know the fix . Speed sensor usually when it won't shift out of first and Gov solenoid when it won't shift out of 2nd, is how it usually goes.
