Default Rim Size Questions

So my 99 has 16" wheels
I asume I run 17's
Is there any benifit or downside ?
Reason I ask is I like the style of this 17" better.
I can gets these tires and wheels for $600 or less
They are 285/70R17

I put the same wheels on my truck and wrapped them in Wrangler Authority's. The wheel/tire combo may be a bit heavier then the smaller 16, but I can't think of any downside to running 17's instead of 16's.

Plus these wheels were only available on the Off Road Edition Ram, so they sorta special!

OP 16" tires are getting harder to find and up here are more $$ than the 17". Good deal! I would say grab them. OP Just a tip " = inchs '= feet I don't think they make a 17' rim for our trucks lol.

Shouldn't make a bit of difference. As long as the tires overall diameter is the same as stock your speedo will be correct. If the new tire is taller, the speedeo will show slower than you are really going. By how much depends on the difference in size.

Other than that, there's no problem.

I used the ' as an apostrophe and not to suggest foot or inches.

I went from a 245 to a 265 and according to my GPS (which may be wrong too) my speedo is anywhere from 2-3MPH slower... Who knows...

Yup. I'm still on 16's but went from 245/75 to 265/75. Now when I'm doing 60 my speedo says 57. It doesn't bother me though.

there's over $600 worth of tires alone in that stack. GRAB THEM.
after you wear out those tires, you can sell the wheels for another $300-400.

If I was refering to you I would have quoted your post. Quoted from the op post "Reason I ask is I like the style of this 17' better."
