Considering the weight of the boots you are wearing can cause the mileage to fluctuate by 2mpg, any serious build will have more of an impact then that.

Any "chip" is garbage. If you already bought one, place it in your toilet, and pull the lever for maximum results.

FYI: I am pretty sure you have the only truck ever to have a 727 installed as factory equipment. You might want to consider leaving it stock, because it's probably worth a fortune, considering it's a one-off!!!

be nice this guys a newb and doesnt know better

also that 245 is crank hp, you probably maybe getting 190 at most to the terra. and with bigger tires you will get even less.

if you want 400 wheel hp youll want to build a 408 stroker or get a procharger. otherwise it will take an insane amount of $ and special parts to crank that much of of a 360. if you do boost or build a 408 you will need better casting heads. and head studs if you do boost. hemifever will be able to program you PCM if you go the forced induction route or if you build a 408.

if you dont want to drop 10 g's on your motor for a 408 or about 5 or so g's for a procharger then you wont get 400 rwhp but you can get a better cam, an airgap intake, better heads, 2.02 valves injectors(require a new PCM program that hemifever can do if you buy one of his SCT's), ceramic coated longtube headers, 3 inch mandrel bent y-pipe, the rest of the exhaust would need to be restriction free for the best performance
Seeming as everyone on here has years of Mopar experience and knowledge, Please could you give me a parts list and guestimate on price range, I've only had my truck for a whole year now. Im originally a Chevy guy, Seeming as I have a 76' scottsdale, And Dodge is a whole new world to explore. Always loved the Ram's, And I want my ram to be exceptional. and im sure the people that have commented can help me bring my goals for her to reality.

Its simple, you either get fuel economy or power. One or the other. If you want 400 hp, i would almost garuntee that it would be cheaper and much easier to go buy one from jegs or summit. Theyre about 4 grand.

Heres a semi list of parts:
Probably going to want high volume oil snd water pump $???
E-fan $???
Double roller timing set $50
Intake with gaskets etc $460 for the mopar $600 for the hughes
Cam we'll say $300
Valve springs, retainers to go with the cam will be about $125 or so
Possibly roller rockers for it too $400
If your lucky to find a 340 crank your lookin at $2-300 more
Big gulp throttle body $225
Tranny, figure $2000
Flat top pistons and rings around $700 or so
Valve spring compressor if you dont have one $???

If you go the stroker route on your motor.
Kit is around $2000
Machining costs $???
All new gaskets, seals etc $120

This is all diy stuff, if you csnt do it. You would definitely be better off with buying a crate 408 stroker than paying to have all this done

Just a question, are you in a position where you could or would consider trading in your truck? Newer stock Hemi's are pretty close to 400HP, heck even the '04's are 345Hp.

Just a thought.

Costs about 3500-4000 with all parts and tuning. 308 RWHP is a beast with 4 PSI. 10 pSI will get you 413 RWHP, but you will need a new intake (One piece) and head studs because it will eventually blow if you don't.

PATC tranny is 2400-2700 plus freight.

So, you can basically get a used 2003 with a Hemi for that plus the price of your trade in.

I think there are only about 3 or 4 guys with 400HP trucks on this forum (RWHP) and most are drag strip only AND 410 strokers.

Lift size
Tire Size
Engine Modification (Im aiming to obtain 400 HP)
True Dual's or Cat-back's
Im trying to do all this without over-compromising my trucks FE, since right about now she's running 18mpg HW and 15 city

This is your "realistic" course of action and I'm being cereal.

wait i just caught it. he listed his truck as having a quater-ton suspension(1500's are 1/2 ton trucks)..... i think that in all honesty (and no offense meant by this) that the op needs to spend a very long time researching his vehicle and the stuff he wants to do, and then take it to a shop and have them do the work. with that first post he very clearly know very little about his truck as a stock vehicle and even less about how to make it more powerful...once again i state that no offense was intended.
