Starting/clutch problem
So the truck in question is a '98 Ram 1500 2WD V6 with a 5 speed manual tranny. In April of 2011 my throw out bearing went out so while I was changing it I replaced the Disc, pressure Plate, and the pilot bearing. So I assembled it all and it worked great. The parts I used to replace the existing cluth were from a LUK cluth kit. In the box there was a notice that the new OEM pressure plate was larger than the original, but it fit perfectly. So in the past few months it seems that my cluth is not totally disengaging and it was very hard to get in first or reverse from a stop. When the clutch is depressed the truck would VERY slowly creep forward. So I changed the hydraulic clutch release system with the part in the link below. The gears are easier to get into now but reverse still has times where it takes a little to get it in gear. At stops, if I'm still in gear with the clutch in, the truck doesn't move. However I literally have to press the clutch to the floorboard, pull myself forward with the steering wheel and bounce on the pedal to get the truck to start.
That being said I noticed that my clutch pedal is very loose and for the first 2 or 3 inches of travel the pedal is "floppy". I can pick the pedal up with my foot and it will fall the 2-3 inches. So yesterday I took the kick plate off and lowered my steering column and noticed that the rod connecting the cluck pedal to the brake pedal looks like it is broken. While pressing te clutch down with my hand the first 2-3in do not push the master cylinder push rod in at all. Could the broken rod be the cause of my starting issues or is it something else? I can take pics tomorrow if that would be useful.

Well I fixed it. It turned out that te rod wasn't broken but it had begun to pull out on te brake pedal side and had fallen out of the bracket on the clutch side. I pushed it bak into the bracket and all is well now. Anyone know if there should be a pin on the clutch side to stop this from happening?
