Default need help with lift kit!

I have been reading post on this forum for a couple weeks now and decided it was time to join.

I recently bought a 1999 ram 1500 sport with the 5.2 in it and would love to lift it up a little bit. I have seen alot of people talk about topguncustomz and found a 3" lift kit with shocks.

I dont really know anything about lifts so i was wondering if this kit is something worth buying while on a slim budget, will I need to purchase other stuff to make it work or is this all i need? How difficult is it to install? I just drive my truck around town and dont go offroading just want a nice looking truck. All input is appreciated thanks.

I installed that kit two weeks ago and went off road just this past weekend to test it all out.

I ended up getting a set of shocks for the rear cause mine were shot anyways.

Did you run into any problems while lifting it? Do I need to buy other items to make it work? Looks like its a pretty straight forward build. About how long did it take? Sorry for so many questions just want to make sure I do it right and am able to do it before i order it! Thanks

Front took about 2-3 hours and probably 2 hours for the back. I was changing out leaf shackles so it basically took me a whole day for everything that needed done.

Don't need anything other than what came in the kit to start but I would get a bit longer shocks for the rear in the future.

Tool wise you will need some metric and standard sockets. The most used are Metric 19, 21 and 22. Buy or rent a coil/strut compressor tool for the coils. For the rear I basically cut the u-bolts since the kit had new ones.

I've had no issues but the ride is definitely stiffer.

On a side note the 3" lift is the MAX lift without having to change out controls arms, drop pitman arm, drop sway bar brackets , etc.

Just curious, you in ohio?
