Default to anyone who has done the rock solid ram steering fix?

so I have the parts, install seems to be simple. But I have 1 question.

I also have the parts to do my dash, full replacement from LMC.
since I already have to drop the steering column (but not completely remove it, do you think I should just fully remove it and do the steering fix outside of the truck.

To me it seems like I should since I will already almost have the column out, but I just wanted input from ya'll.

Removing the column increases the chances of damaging clock spring. I would drop as needed for dash replacement (tie it off so it doesn't turn). Rock solid can be installed with column in place.
