Default light wiring DIY addition

The past few days, I've been building wire harnesses for my offroad lights, including relays, switches, fuses, and the whole bit. I use this forums offroad light DIY and a few others to figure out the wiring. This Forums DIY is good for one switch, but i wanted my lights to be on seperate switches, so i can turn on the passenger side one, without blinding oncoming traffic with the driver side light. I drew up the diagram on a piece of paper, but it was kind of sloppy, so I made one in MSpaint for the fun of it, and maybe it'll help some people in the future.

Also some pics of my scrap aluminum switch panel and switches mounted in cab.
Was happy to see them light up, and only have left to do, the power wires from the relays, under the truck, and up to the lights, and the grounds from the lights, down to the frame.

One question though. The power/ ground for both switches were ran to the wires of a cig. lighter plug in. So in order to power the switches, I plug into the cig. lighter/ 12v plug. Does this seem like something useful, or should I just not be lazy and dig up behind the dash for a 12v source/ ground spot?

Just run the wires to the battery so you can flip them on anytime even without the ignition on.

That's what I did and its great, I wouldn't trust the cig lighter to handle the load of the fog lights

I run the power wire for mine to the fuse panel and hooked into the radio fuse, just so I couldn't turn them on without the ignition being on (this way I couldn't forget to turn them off and drain the battery)

Yeah I guess that makes sense. I have a optima yellow top battery so I can pretty much leave the lights on all night without a problem
