Default What type? (HD, SLT etc)

Okay. The 3rd gen Rams all have badges like 'Heavy Duty' and 'SLT' and such. What are our 2nd Gen classified as, and how do we find out? Mine has leather seats and HD springs... do I qualify for any classification?

Just one of those random thoughts.

If you have the 241HD with PTO and a Spicer 70 or 80 rear, it would probably be considered a Heavy Duty..my window sticker says it's a 2500HD and "Heavy Duty Vehicle No Label Required" for the EPA fuel mileage estimate [sm=gears.gif]

2nd Gens pretty much had the same packages and designations. My 94 has the SLT Laramie package. There is a badge on each side of the cab that says "SLT Laramie" on it. I can't remember the rest of the packages and badges, but there were more. I know the Off-Road editions had special "badges".

The "Heavy-Duty" badge just means that it's a 2500/3500. I don't believe they put them on 1/2 ton trucks like GM has.

If you get a build sheet from Chrylser, it should tell you what package your truck has.

Burning Rom is right, Heavy Duty just means it is a 2500/3500. SLT is type of package that comes with a lot of nice features and SLT Laramie has even more featues. Just about makes the truck loaded interior wise. You have leather due to the Laramie package. Leather could be ordered separate but comes automatically with the Laramie.

I'm not sure if it does. I have all my books packed away, so I can't look. In later years it might of, but in '94 it didn't (my truck doesn't have it). I just have the premium cloth 40/20/40 bench seat w/center console. I have every other interior option though thanks to the laramie package and the travel and convenience package.

My 99 Laramie has all the bells 'n whistles...even the good ole "wood-grain" dash...more like plastic with a print...but it looks like a caddy on the inside!
