Permatex says Red locktite (or Green) requires heat to remove. Normally I wouldn't use it on an assembly I might want to take apart. Blue if you intend to ever remove the bolt or stud.

Did you snap it off while installing the new tranny?

I cannot think of a good way to remove it without drilling it out, and in place, it may be impossible to get a drill in the right spot and straight.

If you remove it and lay it on a bench, after drilling a little heat can be applied while using an EZ out. But I cannot see it being done in place.

It took a week to bolt the tranny to the engine corretly. I think it is time to just tow it to a tranny shop & pay for the rest of the job.

If I was closer I would come help. I can drop the tranny in a little over an hour and reinstall in about 2 hours. But a transmission jack makes all the difference in the world....

I nearly rented 1 but was told they don't allow for tilt or clocking, just up & down. Thanks for the offer though.

I bought one at harbor freight. Not one of the best, but I don't do this for a living, so it is good enough for a hobbyist. Same with a press and a few other things I need every once in a while. I have a number of project vehicles, so I know I will getr my money's worth, but it is not economical for a one time deal.
