Question turbo in my 1994?

I was wondering if it was possible to put a turbo in my almost stock 1994 dodge 1500? If it is what all would I have to buy? The turbo is suppose to push around 25 pounds. I heard from a friend that I would have to buy a cummins manifold. Can someone help me out with this?

From what I have read and heard you don't want to go over 8 or 9lbs of boost. There is a member on here who has done a turbo on his 5.2. I think its Hanz5.2 or something like that. He will probably be able to give you a good rundown of what all you will need

If you have to ask...

Pressure and flow are 2 different things. How do you plan on fitting a CTD manifold on your Magnum v8?

Sounds like you want to use a CTD turbo, I'm using one, it's not really ideal but it works. Pretty much any turbo will do at least 25PSI. This isn't what you wan't/need. CTD compressors have relatively small compressors, they like to make a lot of pressure to get good flow, the T3 turbine is restrictive as well. I'm using the biggest turbine housing you can get for this turbo. On 7 PSI and a rich tune I put down 290RWHP and 375 RWTQ. I'm now at 8PSI, any higher with this turbo and you're basically wasting your time, the backpressure is too high and the compressor flow is too little. I'm switching to a 60mm HX40 with a P-trim housing a front mount setup soon hopefully.

10PSI is about the limit on the stock headgaskets.

So the limit is about 10 psi? When you put it on how much of a speed difference was there for you? And I wouldn't need to buy anything else?

Again, if you have to ask...

You'll need a lot more than just a turbo. Wastegate, blow off valve, some sort of hotside to attach the turbo to, a cold side, oil lines, air hat, a tuning method, ect.

Basically it sounds like you know very little about the subject and should spend months reading about it, at which point you probably won't do it anyways, no offense.

Stock Boosted 360 got 305 HP and 339 ft lbs rear wheel numbers with a STOCK engine (With kegger).

It is a rear mount turbo as well. If you want to boost, that is a good forum to talk about it. I think it was $2500 for the kit, plus exhaust shop work to mount and route the turbo (about $300).

They also did a run with 10 LBS on a stock engine, but that would not last without a one piece intake and head studs. Even with 4 LBS I would replace the head bolts with ARP bolts, or even studs. In case you want to go with more boost.
