Swap NV3500 for NV4500 behind 318
This is query for friend.
1999 1500 sport 318, nv3500, np231hd
What needs to be done to swap in a nv4500?
Any particular year be used or closely match year b/c of input/output shafts?
Can the np231 still be used or need to go np241?
I found a couple related threads that partially help me out.

Thanks in advance for input, including other/better threads.

I have read this thread a couple times just for kicks. Lots of info in here.

Any nv4500 out of a dodge v8 will take the 231. (23 spline output for V8 trans only, HD 4500's had 29 spline outputs.)
The input shafts for both transmissions will be the same 1 1/8" 10 spline input. (Again, LD V8 versions only, HD's had a 1 1/4" input.) Pilot tips for all three transmissions are the same.
