Hey, im new to this forum. I have a problem with my dodge ram 1500 5.9l 1995. I bought the truck 6 months ago and all was well, it has around 120,00 miles sound, solid truck. The problem started a couple of weeks ago, when the truck shifts into o/d it shakes a bit and the revs go very jerky and up and down, when you try to kick down it doesnt seem to want to go straight away and when you slow right down it doesnt change out of o/d till the last minute. This seems to be worse when it gets hot. strange because one day the truck was running fine and the next, this! also, the cruise control stopped working at the same time as the o/d. does anyone have any ideas what this could be, would really appreciate the feedback.

In addition to what zman stated, check trans fluid level. And check it with transmission good and worm and in Neutral!
