The 180 stat help prevent ping , I wouldn't get a 195 . 180 is still plenty hot in the winter for warm air

false bud. I ran a 180 in alaska for a whole year and some. summers average 70 degrees. 80 is the hottest. in the winter at -20 there is no such thing as heat. just 40 degree air. put a 195 back in and it was a world of difference. truck runs just as good. My mechanic looked at me funny when he replaced it along with flushing the system since its not that warm up here. i guess it location but I just really disagree with that statement. Even with shorty headers that dissapate the heat in the engine compartment it was still luke warm at best haha. but it did work well with the pcm from what I noticed.

For 26$ and some change, I just put on a thrush 28 inch glasspack, in place of my flowmaster super 44. The glasspack was 24$, plus 1 u-bolt clamp. Sound difference is very noticeable. Sounds like a beast at WOT. No, you aren't going to gain 10hp, but it'd sound like you did.

15 degrees is not going to make a difference with cracking. cracks are a result of overheating.

Huh? You mean to say that Dodge engineers didn't have a clue what they were doing by installing a 195º thermostat for well over 15 years?

You need to quit drinking the 180º thermostat Kool-Aid. Installing one will not cure all of the vehicle's engine woes, cure athlete's foot, or balance the federal deficit.
