Default 5.9 to 5.2 Swap PLEASE HELP

I need some information to see if this is possible. I have a 2001 Dodge Ram with 5.9 that is bad. I also have a 94 dodge with 5.2. I would like to know if it is possible to swap these and what all may be involved. The 2001 has a new computer and I was hoping I can still use it. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't downgrade to the 5.2 I mean don't get me wrong its a great motor and all but it will be more of a hassle than its worth IMHO

Plus the '94 5.2 is OBDI and your 2001 is OBD 2, and there should be some difference's in the connector's for the transmission? over the year's.

Swap the intake manifold from the 01 to the 94. All the sensors, and then do the swap don't change the transmissions though.

Your '94 had EGR, but you will be using the '01 intake, so it is a non issue. Just use the 01 passenger side exhaust manifold (from the outgoing 360), and you're golden. Also, make sure to use the flexplate from the 5.2, not the 5.9. 5.9's are externally balanced, so the flexplates (or flywheels) do not interchange. The '94 5.2 will bolt up to the '01 transmission.

I can't say 100% for the computer, but if it were me I would try running the 5.2 on the 5.9 computer, I think it should work fine.

Sell/trade the 5.2 for a 5.9. I would keep the 5.9 if i could. But with some major swapping Im sure it is possible. As for the 5.2 running on a 5.9 CPU...it may or may not work.
