You would be wrong. CPS was definitely in its little notch.

The rotor and cap were both put on and taken off several times in an effort to get a better fit. It took quite an effort to get the cap held in place to just get the screws in. Not having replaced a cap on a 360 before, I just assumed that it was the nature of the beast.

If the rotor wasn't on all the way, it would have to be because of defective molding (which would be the fault of BWD).

I still have the original (came with the truck) rotor. I might have the cap also. When I have time, I will take some measurements and compare with what I pulled off yesterday.

I understand. Nothing personal intended at all.

Seriously, if you had been here, you would have seen that the rotor was as far down as it was going to go. (Actually, if you had been here, you probably would have had better sense than to use the cap the way it fit.)

It took pushing down with all my weight (or as much weight as you can apply in that funky position) to hold it down enough to get both screws to grab.

When I put the latest cap and rotor on yesterday, it was night and day. I didn't have to apply any down pressure at all to get the cap to seat.

Yep that's generally how it works. So did it fix all your problems?

Yep, drove it about 75 miles today. It ran great and has more power than it has had in a long time.

In fact, I was very disappointed when I changed the plugs and it didn't seem to have much impact. That sounds confusing. Sequence of events: Truck quit running, changed rotor, cap, coil, cps, and cks. Either the cps or cks got it going again.

It ran ok, but nothing to write home about.

A couple of weeks later, I changed the plugs and wires. I was expecting a very noticeable difference, but it was just kind of blah.

I can see now that the cap and rotor was already affecting it.

Now it is almost the hotrod that it was when I bought it. And it sounds great.
