Default Fuel pump access - Drop gas tank or tilt the bed

01 Ram 1500 PU, have tracked issues down to Fuel Pump Module Assembly and will be replacing this in my truck. My question - is it easier to drop the entire gas tank to get at it, or could I loosen up the appropriate pu bed bolts and tilt the bed- maybe remove the bed - to get at it?

Any suggestions or past experience - neither looks terribly difficult, just looking to take the most timely route.

Thanks from Duluth, MN.

I'm pretty sure most people choose to remove the bed, it's easier as long as you have more than one person.

I believe in dropping the tank, why because you can clean it out much better with the tank out of the truck. It's about 2hrs work in total for the r&r.

Drop the tank. This way you will also see if the straps and fill tube and hose need replace.
