Default What are the largest tires I could run

98 dodge ram 1500 sadly just 2WD. So far I have put a 2.5in leveling kit on it.

Now I've Found a 3" spindle lift for $360, and are longer brake lines probably a good Idea?

Also Found some 2.5 rear lift blocks for $90

So total it will be 5.5" of lift.

It has 3.55 Gears. Would I want to re-gear it if the tires are big enough?

And that's the most lift I'm gonna put on it being it's just 2WD.

SO:
What's the largest tire I could run?
Should I re-gear?

Have you tried searching the forum? I can remember atleast 5 different threads on either re-gearing or the max tire size within the last week...............

Do your 5" of lift, extend the brake lines, install a set of 33's, regear to 4.10's for a stock powerband, or 4.56's for a bit more aggressive gearing (also to be prepared for WHEN you put on a 3" body lift and 35's).

plan on all this costing you about 2 grand without the cost of the tires and then ask yourself if its gonna be worth it Especially if your just doing it for looks....
if you dont regear it will be sluggish to drive and you would have to replace the transmission sooner from the added strain.
