Just a heads up That crackle after the rev means its not performing correctly ....I'm pretty sure thats happening because the gases arent escaping like they should be and it hurts performance...

I thought less backpressure meant more crackle sound? Not necessarily that it's not running correctly. But that it does somewhat hurt performance...

I have a stock exhaust system on my 2001 Ram 5.9... I was wondering if any of y'all have ideas to make it a *tiny* bit more rumbly without buying a flowmaster or etc. I've heard of disconnecting the cat or removing the muffler and replacing with straight pipe, but I'd prefer something, how shall I say this... less drastic? Is there something to this hype with just buying tips?

this goes in line with what I said earlier..I'm no expert but some of that misquoted "backpressure" is needed to create a scavenging effect which sucks exhaust gases out of the combustion chamber and boosts performance...

get a fart can like the kids use on the little imports. and poor mans tuners. it wont give you the deep sound though ..just more raspy noise. reminds me of sticking a baseball card in my spokes as a kid...
cut out the muffler and you may get a ticket for too much noise... if your gonna go that far just replace it with a aftermarket one like a flowmaster... they dont do anything for performance anyway they are just for show (or sound)... Its the upgraded pipes that make a difference.
