Neutral and parking brake if the need arises.

thats funny. you think most peoples park brakes still work. after i use mine 2 or 3 times i have to fix it. if my brakes fail and it is a life or death situation i would slam it in reverse at which point it would stall and stop.

well, when it first happened and i was almost rolling into the busy intersection, my left foot instinctively covered the parking brake. i almost slammed it down. i'm sure the pb would've broken after that exercise.

i'll give it a go tomorrow without the relays and i hope the ABS engagement will cease. it makes you feel like you're hauling a 30,000 lb trailer. it's almost counter intuitive to think that an ABS system would just let you continue rolling instead of stopping.

more soon!

Slamming in reverse would do the trick. I guess I'm lucky in that my parking brake works consistantly. However, now that I have said that, well you know how our trucks respond to saying something good about them. Heck, saying anything about them.

This makes me wonder about my parking brake. When my dad was still diving my truck one of the lines blew out an he had to use his parking brake to stop. Luckily he was in town so it wasn't too too bad.

if the newer rams used a similar design as the old 250's and 350's you might be ok as long as your cables are good. the old 150's got screwed with moving parts that are not needed and can rust up and cause the park brake to not work even if your cables are good.

OK. You guys are starting to scare me...and I don't scare easily (I raised 5 kids - 4 of them teen agers at the same time....don't worry, they all survived!)

Brake wheel speed sensors are expensive. The replacements for my Jag are about $550. Maybe see if you can find them in a JY. When it comes to safety, taking shortcuts or disabling a system is not something I would want to do. The inintedned consequences could be costly. Just my opinion... I have spent several hundred dollars(OK, maybe more) on power and convenience items for my Ram. I would not stop short for safety feature.

2 wheel abs sensors are like $30. That's what most of us have. The 4 wheel ABS sensors are the expensive ones.

If the ABS/Brake lights are on, I'd check for leaky cylinders.
