I have not, what should I look for when I do? An increase in low, mid, high range or just and overall better ride?

I had a problem with that one because of the recessed base. It would hit the throttle linkage and bracket. I think PN Spectre 47602 is the same one without the recessed base.

EDIT: Just realized that is not the PN for the one with the more shallow recess. Will have to find the PN for the correct one. I went with the volant CAI as it was much better fit.

A spacer of about .5" should work without any problem. I just didn't like the way it all sealed to the throttle body. To many places for unfiltered air and dust to work itself in. Just my opinion though. Lots of people use them and have no issues.

I ended up buying it and installed it and actually had to use the 1" spacer because the .5" was too small, but everything came out fine. I see what you mean by there being some areas where unfiltered air can get in so I will be putting a butyl rubber rope between the spacer and lower pan so that it is air tight. I will also put some lock tight on the s-bolt because I don't trust it enough to hold up. I also did not have the time to pull the o2 because right as I finished the intake a storm rolled in and I got bombarded with hail and rain.

On the knocking. There was also a guy that had leaking headers. His were factory. He found that problem after he did his plenum. I think he stayed with factory headers and just replace the gasket. Sometimes the leak can be so small that you cannot here the typical noises associated with leaking headers but can feel it.
