How many grease zerts are on a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500? if it makes a difference it has a 3.9 engine. Where should I look? What grease works best?

Check all the u-joints, ball joints, steering components. How many??? Who knows, it all depends on the parts themselves, some are greasable, some not.

I dont know. Got mine with 102,000 miles and had fittings at the ball joints and tie rod ends. I have no idea if they were factory or not though.
