It's been almost 10 years since I traded in my beloved 2nd Gen Ram, but I've still got a lot of 2nd Gen'er in me, LOL...

UNLIKE some, for instance a guy I know who ditched his 2nd Gen for a little Dak and now doesn't even want to know you guys, LMAO...

As long as there wasn't lighting then I would play anyway if it was my last chance to get a few rounds in before starting a full time work schedule. I'm waterproof and titanium doesn't rust if it gets wet.
We just went back to my old schedule at my work where it'll be 48 hours one week and 36 the next, then 48, then 36 and so on so I'll be playing less. For about the last year we were on 36 hours a week so I had a lot of time to play. My work has 12 hour shifts though so 36 hours is done in 3 days.

I got a round in today. Rained all morning, but cleared around 11 - sun came out and it was steamy as hell - which in turn brought a round of thunderstorms - but not until about 4:30 - long after we were done.

Hit the ball well, but couldn't putt the saturated greens. Shot a so-so 77. I have to go to fill out my "new hire" paperwork at 9 am tomorrow, then it's to the golf course for a round and then I have my weekly 9 hole scramble at 5 (weather permitting - forecast is for late afternoon/early evening boomers again)...

me - BS Computer Science, '79

lived off Milledge Ave for awhile, then Whitehall/Barnett Shoals.
partied on Barber St some, Allens, another beer joint off North Ave and down by the river. I can't remember the name. It was a guy's name... old place, wooden floor. lots of old ceiling fans. big outside deck. cheap beer, hot pretzels. big crowds..... got it... TK Hardy's Saloon. too bad somebody shot him. now I'm on a roll. Last Resort. The Other Place. Cooper's. Abbott's Pizza. Steverino's. Fifth Quarter.

watched the games from The Tracks.

a story about the Tracks and a quote from Erk Russell, the most popular man on earth. Erk was the defensive coach, and he and the defense was the heart and soul of the team back then. the football team would travel from the athletic dorm to the stadium by bus, and park and unload directly under the Tracks. they'd get a very enthusiastic reception from all the drunks, most of which had been there all night.

and one more.
Erk Russell. THE MAN. For those that don't know, the blood is from knocking heads with the players to get them fired up. The players with helmets on, Erk without. He was one tough SOB.

I never finished, started at UGA the same year as Garrison Hearst, interestingly, when I dropped out and got married, I moved to Lincolnton, which is where Hearst was from. I didn't start college right after high school but instead played a couple of years of rookie and class A baseball. Then when I got cut loose I went to college, but two years in I got a try-out with another organization and got picked up - so I dropped out. Played about a season and a half and broke a couple fingers (was a catcher) got one finger pinned and got released while I was healing up.

Always intended to go back and finish but I got married and needed $$$, so I started the career thing...

did you play baseball at UGA, or we're you not eligible after being pro.

what in god's name were you doing in Lincolnton? was that the wife's home town?

Athens is still there, waiting on you to come back. I had a neighbor the same age as me, we were probably Juniors. His family had sold a bunch of land in south georgia for a wad of money and moved to athens and both the father and the son were in school. son in undergraduate and the father applying for law school. come to think of it, i don't know if he ever got in or not...

You're just jealous that my 4.7 outperforms and gets better gas mileage than your Hemi.
