Default Cylinder Missfire

Connected the obd scanner and read cylinder 5 missfire.
My question is: my check engine comes on at times and sometimes it doesn't. Is it a spark plug, a plug wire, or something else?

If plugs, wires, or cap & rotor haven't been changed... start with that. Another possibility is a bad injector or wiring.

Pull the #5 plug and see what it looks like, go from there. Oh, put all info about your truck/any modification's and put it in your signature, it will save you a lot of grief in the long run

#5 is a pretty common place for the lower intake gasket to be blown out also.
