Default 97 Ram 3500 Front End Popping at Slow Speeds

My Ram 3500 2WD Automatic (dually) when turning to the left at really slow speeds (like pulling thru a drive thru) sometimes feels like sometime is popping back into place or shifting. I've taken it to the shop and they replaced a pitmen arm but it still does it. They said they checked the ball joints and that there was not excessive play in them. I had the mechanic ride with me and he said he feels the popping is coming from the back of the truck. All I know is that the truck has destroyed the front 2 tires like the frontend is badly misaligned and I want to fix the issue before I buy new tires and have it aligned. Any ideas? Thanks in Advance for your help.

I've been noticing sorta the same thing. Mostly in parking lots or the drive thru. It only happens when I turn the wheel but it's a creaking, not a squeak like bad ball joints, but a creak. I never did grease the idler arm when I put it on after I bought the truck, maybe it needs some greasing.

Curious to see what you find.

Edit: The noise is almost like a clunk.

Why bother trying to answer the question when you don't even know if the op's truck is a 2 or 4wd? LOL If I had to guess, I'd say this, http://www.rocksolidramtrucksteering.com/

First sentence in the op post states its a 2wd. I replaced all the ball joints on my last ram cause they were popping bad and after 4 months they were popping again. A balljoiny doesnt need a whole lot play to be popping.
