Default Fluid changes?

Anyone know after how miles I should change the tranny fluid? I have 2001 automatic Ram 1500 4x4. The fluid looks good. Some have told me I don't need to change it unless the gasket goes bad or I am having work done on it, I just need to keep the level up. That true? I have put 24,000 miles on it since I bought it.

Another qustion.

What about 4x4 gear fluid??? I used to have a few SUVs I never changed those and had them years and never a problem. Should I change it and when?

I believe its around every 30,000 miles. Earlier if you do a lot of towing.

Can you say free download ? Look in the FAQ/DIY secion. All kinds of good info in there as well as buying a Haynes manual.
