Default Codes 12 & 31

I was driving home today and my damn check engine light came on. When i got home i did the flash test and got codes 12 & 31. Anyone have any ideas what these are? I have a 97 Ram 1500 5.9L with 120K.

No timmy ,they arent no timmy, bad timmy!

They are key flash codes, but I think you might have misread the 31....
do your self a favor, seriously, go to pepboys and buy a $99 Actron Scantrom codereader... its Orange and they sell a few differnt models, they might have gone up in price SOME but should be very close to $100. It will tell you in the dealers trouble codes AD plain english whats reading poorly.... such as it will also tell you if the O2 sensor is bad, it willtellyou WHICH ONE.... and before you Autozone worshippers startign touting how easy it is to go there.. just go buy a scanner, as long as you own a 96 or newer vehicle, this scaner shodl work for ALL of them... save yer parents a tripto the dealer, etc.... dont be a cheap ***, just drop the cash or maybe you and a buddy chip in..... its SO worth it...

Code 31 is Short or open in the EVAP solenoid circuit. Check for loose, broken, or shorted wire in the charcoal canister purge solenoid wiring and connectors. Can anybody help me out a lil bit with this one?
