I posted picture of various parts and had a coupe of members here verify what I needed before I bought it, and just went to the dealer, they even had one in stock. And I looked at my old thread, got it for $128.

Alot of people tell me its not worth the money to switch them out, But I plan on rebuilding this truck.. so why not? Im actually learning on it, and I HATE Automatics..

Ok, Im stuck. On this Valve body, I have the 6 bolts removed from it, and the bolt that goes through the Throttle and Gearshift linkage.. This pries right off?? Ive been prying, and it seems to come some what loose, (I watched a vid on youtube, but he already had certain parts off) Or am I supposed to disconnect something on this linkage before I pry it? I cant get very far with it.. =\

I'm confused too! When I had to replace TCC/OD Solenoid Assembly all we had to do was drop the pan/filter, and remove the piece on the side of the valve body, and then remove the double O ringed connector (there's a few more pieces in there...), disconnect the cable from the solenoid, remove the old assembly, and install the new stuff. The wires on the assembly are submersed in transmission fluid, and they run across or right by the filter...

Edit:

Could you post a picture?

I think four of the bolts are in the solenoid area. There are more. Check FSM to be sure, but do not pry on it, you may damage VB. I think I can see 7 1/2 holes in this photo....

EDIT:

Here is another pic I found. I could not figure out how to put a nice red circle around the holes so see the black lines. The black circle is on the screo on top of VB to hold connector secure. (this is me guessing - haven't had VB out for some time now...)

Maybe he's not replacing the same part that I had to? I dunno.

All I had to remove is what is pointed to by the black arrows, and the screws that hold the metal piece of the assembly, which is on the passenger side of the transmission, and disconnect the wires...

Yes, there is a spring that will shoot out the side when that side is taken off, as well as a "sleeve" or whatever it's called that is inside that round section...

That side is all I had to remove to get to what I needed....

The peice your talking about removing without removing the VB is the one in the above picture, shown right below the connector plug.. I thougt about that, maybe that is what I will do.. Mine Valve Body only has three bolts on each side, total of 6.. It is loose and hanging on the linkage..
