Blend Door or just more Wild Vents?
Cv didn't work for me when I put in the new ones. When I unplugged the cv from the T I heard air so im assuming my vacuum canister is holding vacuum and my CC works. Guess I'll rig up a smoke tester to try to find a leak. I wonder if it'd be ok to use dry ice for the smoke and a battery operated tire inflater to pump it or would that be too much pressure. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated at this point.
Since I'm not able to justify splurging on a smoke machine, I isolate those under the dash vacuum problems with vacuum pump and gauge. There's a seven-way vacuum connector under the instrument panel, over the transmission well, and to the left of the HVAC box that makes it easy enough to isolate the various circuits and leak-down test each of them. If you haven't got the factory service manual, grab it from the FAQ/DIY section. Add in a handful of golf tees to use as line plugs and away you go.
Opening up that vacuum connector takes four hands, or two screwdrivers, three hands, and holding your mouth just right. Oh, and it's probably hiding in a wrap of insulation tape.
@ unregistered, thanks. I'll give that a try. Im not very mechanically inclined, kinda bumbling my way through this. I found dodge forum by accident searching for a fix to this. I don't have the factory manual all I have is a Chilton book from the parts store.
