Gas petal stuck
I was driving home last night and my gas petal got stuck to the floor while I was driving, I had I slam in the brakes and then stomped on the gas petal once and it poped up again . What should I do to fix this I've never run into this problem before.
Disconnect the cables from the throttle body and see whats sticking. Pedal, cable, or throttle body itself. Maybe a shot of WD40 will fix it. But not likely if it's the throttle body. Something is probably wore causing the problem. And being a random happening, you may not figure out what it is until it gets worse(not very encouraging is it).
FWIW I had the opposite happen to me one time. The gas pedal got real hard to press and had to put a LOT of weight on the pedal for the truck to go a little bit. Looked under the hood and noticed the cable came off a pulley or something just in front of the throttle position sensor. Corrected it and never had a problem with it again.
What about the floor mats?
