my truck has been running like crap this past week. ive lost approx 100km per tank of fuel and when i turn it on there seams to be a slight rattling sound and it runs super rough until i give it a decent amount of pedal. any ideas? exhaust leak perhaps?

When was your last tune-up?

 

Has it thrown any codes? From your description, it sounds like the cat. convertor may have broken down. That will definately make a rattling sound and cause a decrease in mileage and power. Lay under the truck by the convertor and have someone else start the truck and see if you can hear it rattling or not. Also, take a whiff of your exhaust (obviously, do this in an open area and don't whiff too much) and see if it smells rich.

 

it is running a little rich. some blackness on the exhaust tips. but its not the cat, that was recently upgraded.

as for any codes, i have no idea
