Default replacing ball joints question

I picked up a axle Dana 44 today for some other parts and the ball joints are like brand new, can I take them out and install them in my truck?

Next question is if it can be done, can it be done with out a ball joint press?

I have a huge u clamp and all kinds of other things, im just trying to save as much money as I can, as I'm broke and this truck is needing a little tlc.

Thanks

Rich

You can use a piece of wood and a large socket to take them out (without causing major harm). Pretty much a DIY press of sorts.

Or just go rent the kit from your local parts store. You get the deposit back.
