Need a rebuilt motor for my 2001 5.2 magnum ram and was looking to get it from http://www.gearheadengines.com/

anyone heard of them? Is there someone else better?

also is the magnum engine part number HD11 or DD58

 

i just looked at the detailed description of the two, and they look exactly the same to me. you'll need to call them and ask. also find out about shipping, core charges, core returns, core shipping, warranty process if needed. i like their warranty, if they actually stand behind it.

The magnum came up to be $2200 for everything. That also included a special warranty that covers any accidental damage on the dealers part when they installed like if the break the radiator and overheat the engine and damage it.
It also has one day shipping and will be delivered either tomorrow evening or Thursday morning. I looked them up and the few people that got their engines liked them and had no problems. Could not find any complaints about them.

The difference is the HD engine is only rebuilt once so it is better for towing and hauling. the normal magnum could have been rebuilt 3 times so it's more for daily driving. If you got the standard warranty the total cost was only $1300. I got the 3 year, unlimited miles, no fault warranty added to mine.

Another thing is that you deal with only I service guy on on the phone. They give you an extension to reach them and keep a full record of everything so, you don't have to call and get transferred 50 times.

 

are you doing the install and do you have a camera?
take lots of pics and do a little write up. its cheap entertainment for the DF crowd and shows people whether they can or can't do it themselves.

i like the 3 year warranty.
