Default No Interior Fan Upon Acceleration

I had my AC recharged this summer for the first time and found that no air would blow upon acceleration (going up a hill). I then found out that it is the fan itself that shuts down when I had it running without the AC while driving through some cool rain in Wyoming.

The fan likely isn't shutting down, the blend door is defaulting to defrost because of a faulty vacuum check valve.

check valves are on the vac lines, passenger side of engine. near intake manifold. black disc in the vac lines about the size of a quarter. 2 or 3 of them. available at any parts store or dealer. search on "wild vents" for more info.
