Took it in to a transmission rebuilder. The drive band was pooched and worn down to the rivets. The third gear clutch, plates, and pressure plate were also burnt and hot spotted. These were replaced with a kit with one extra clutch pad and plate. Some gear on a spline was also worn out and had slop between it and the output shaft. Total cost with shift kit and a new torque convertor is 2200 bucks, expensive but I am from Canada and stuff ain't cheap up here! I get the truck back tomorrow. I am pretty stoked

 

Hope it is not too late------replace the Gov solenoid with a Borg Warner one. It will make a difference that you can feel.

 

I forgot, all electronics in the valve body are new but unsure of the brand
