the abs is not affected when swapping wheel bearings... you will need to pull the hub off the spindle and have the bearing pressed off and the new one pressed on...

Was told i couldn't buy just the bearings. Have to buy hub/bearing assembly and need to know about the anti-lock brakes.

who told you that? sounds like BS to me... the hub and the bearing are two separate pieces... try calling Napa auto and see what they have to say about it...

the manual says there is a tone ring for the ABS on the hub if you have ABS... you can go to the dealer and give them your vin # and they can print out a build sheet for your truck. it will tell you what it had when it was 1st built...

also the manual does not specify the bearing removal from the hub...

My bearings in the front left went out also in my 98 and I had to change out the entire hub because they made it all one piece. Advanced Auto has them for like $128. If your truck has ABS you will see some wires going down to your brakes.

94 to 99 Rams had NON-Serviceable bearings in the front hubs. The front axles changed in 2000, and I believe they might have went to serviceable hubs then. The front axles changed in 2002 again for the remaining 2nd gen line. They received NON-CAD front axles.

As far as the ABS question, you have rear wheel ABS for sure. To find out if you have all wheel ABS, you can check the sticker on the underside of your hood. Or you can go to a dealer and get a build sheet.
